Amy Winehouse Funeral Service Held, Father Calls Her His ‘Angel’
Three days after her death from an apparent drug overdose, singer Amy Winehoues was buried in North London earlier today.
The 27-year-old Grammy winner whose life met a tragic end Saturday, was eulogized by her father, who told stories from her childhood and tearfully let her go for the very last time. “Goodbye my angel, sleep tight. Mommy and Daddy love you so very much.” he said.
Kelly Osbourne, and producer Mark Ronson (who worked with Winehouse on her album) were among the celebrities in attendance. One person noticeably absent from the service was Winehouses’ ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. The two who finalized their divorce in 2009, had a publicly tumultuous relationship and some believe that he was the one that introduced Winehouse to drugs. Fielder-Civil is currently serving 32 months in prison for burglary and was denied release on account of her funeral.
Winehouse is expected to be cremated later today.
